About this event

Please join us, Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 5:00pm PST, for an online presentation by Martin S. Lindsay on "A Century of Caeser’s Salad.”

Many have claimed to, but who really originated Caesar’s Salad? And where is Baja-Mediterranean style cooking from? Lindsay will explore the culinary legacies of the Caesar and Alex Cardini brothers, from culinary apprenticeships at Italian lakeside resorts to their invention of Caesar’s Salad in Tijuana, Mexico.

Martin S. Lindsay, AIGA, is an art director, food historian, and board chair for the Culinary Historians of San Diego. Lindsay’s books include Ninety Years of Classic San Diego Tiki; Fassionola: The Torrid Story of Cocktails’ Most Mysterious (with Gregorio Pantoja); and contributions to Tim Ferriss’ bestseller, The 4-Hour Chef. He writes about history & food in Edible San Diego and at ClassicSanDiego.com.

As always, it is super-helpful if you indicate your interest on the BACH Events page on Facebook in addition to registering here.
